Big Questions & Answers for little people is a three year children’s systematic theology for three to pre-kindergartener five-year-olds. It presents 52 key biblical truths that expand the children’s understanding of the same12 Big Questions and Answers used in Teach, Take and Tell. There are 3 weeks of curriculum for each of the 52 biblical truths. A Bible story, reflective of the truth is presented along with the concept each of three weeks. This allows the children to master the concept and the story. Actions rhymes, songs, games and crafts reinforce and add variety to this basic core lesson.
Prayers
Three different prayers are included in the Big Questions and Answers curriculum: the Opening Prayer, the Concept ACTS Prayer, and the Closing Prayer.
The curriculum also suggested a simple jingle, called "Let's Pray," that prepares the children to pray each time.
There is a different Concept ACTS Prayer for each concept in a Big Question Unit.
ACTS is a structure used to shape a prayer. Each letter stands for a particular prayer emphasis: A=Adoration, C=Confession, T=Thanksgiving, S=Supplication. It is useful in helping the children see pray as not just a time to ask God for things or even thank Him for things, but also to confess their sins and to praise Him for what He is like. This will probably be a very new concept in prayer for the children in your class, but a very good one. The curriculum provides a simple ACTS prayer for you to use that highlights an A, C, T, S from the Big Question and key concept the children are learning. It suggests motions that you and the children can make while praying to help them understand each of the four parts to the prayer and to help keep them focused. (Alternatively, you can just have the children sit quietly as you pray the pray.)
The Closing Prayer is identical every session. It is a prayer thanking God for helping the children learn about Him and asking Him to help them tell what they have learned to others.
