Big Questions and Answers

Big Questions & Answers for little people is a three year children’s systematic theology for three to pre-kindergartener five-year-olds. It presents 52 key biblical truths that expand the children’s understanding of the same12 Big Questions and Answers used in Teach, Take and Tell. There are 3 weeks of curriculum for each of the 52 biblical truths. A Bible story, reflective of the truth is presented along with the concept each of three weeks. This allows the children to master the concept and the story. Actions rhymes, songs, games and crafts reinforce and add variety to this basic core lesson.

How Big Questions and Answers is Structured

Twelve Units of 52 Concepts

There are twelve Big Question Units in the curriculum. Within each unit, there are anywhere from two to eight lessons; a total of 52 biblical truths in all. There are three weeks of curriculum for each lesson. Preschoolers love variety, yet need repetition and structure. Surrounded by a big world, they enjoy discovering new things; yet also delight to master them to use and share with others. To this end, each three-week lesson is centered around one truth as revealed in one Bible story, while using a different approach each week to learn it. The curriculum also incorporates songs, ACTS prayer, a craft, a Bible verse game, and something to take home to learn more and to share with others.

Concept Curriculum: A Predictable Paradigm with a Variety of Activities

Each Big Question is a curriculum unit made up of two to eight concepts. There are three weeks of curriculum for each concept. The same concept and Bible story are introduced in the first of the three sessions, then reviewed and reinforced during the second and third weeks. Different crafts and games are used each week to provide variety and to reinforce the key concept and Bible story.

The predictability of the structure is makes learning how to teach the curriculum easier for teachers as well as familiar to the students, so that they spend their time learning and enjoying the materials. The variety of activities keeps the lessons fresh.

Regular and Extended Session Versions

To provide more flexibility, two versions of the curriculum for each concept are available: regular session and extended session versions. The regular session version is for use in a single 60-90 minute session. The extended session version extends the curriculum for use over both the Sunday School and Church (2-3 hour combined session). It provides a review of concepts introduced in Sunday School for those children who join the class for the Church Hour.
